As if this atypical game wasn't enough, another match caught the attention of the Sierra Leone FA. The other game was for Gulf FC, which scored 91-1 against Koquima Lebanon. In total, the weekend scored 187 goals in just two football matches.

In view of this, Sierra Leone Football Association has chosen to open an investigation into possible match-fixing in football. Until that moment, the authorities and the football entity are working to collect information from the athletes and conclude whether or not there was manipulation of results in both matches mentioned.

The Sierra Leone FA itself went public and released an official statement, where it said that it will assess all recent situations, and that if there is any irregularity, those responsible will face “the full force of the law” due to the “impractical results”. Furthermore, the Sierra Leone Football Association noted: “In compliance with FIFA and CAF (Confederation of African Football) regulations against manipulation or any type of irregularity, the Football Federation of Sierra Leone maintains a policy of tolerance zero."

The Sierra Leone FA then added: "The general public is therefore assured that said matter will be thoroughly investigated and anyone found culpable will face the full force of the law."

It is valid to say that in addition to the highlighted goals, other issues drew attention. For example, the winning clubs were behind in direct access to the First Division, and the games had some peculiar happenings, such as strange expulsions and a single player scoring 30 goals in the match.

In historical retrospect, in 2002, in Madagascar, a club scored 149 goals. In this specific case, AS Adema scored 149-0 against Olympique I’Emyrne. In this case, the Olympique coach ordered his players to score own goals to protest the match refereeing.

Now, on the note released to the press, the Sierra Leone Football Federation published the following about the cases:

INVESTIGATION ON IMPRACTICAL GAME RESULTS
Following recent reports on two Division 1 matches - Gulf FC vs Koquima Lebanon and Lumbenbu United vs Kahula Rangers - in the ongoing Eastern Regional Super 10 League which apparently produced impractical results of 91-1 and 0-95 respectively, the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) would like to inform the general public that it has opened an official investigation into the outcome of said matches and the following are of interest:
1. Eastern Region Football Association (ERFA)
2. All Officials designated to officiate both matches (Gulf FC vs Koquima Lebanon FC & Kahunla Rangers FC vs Lumbebu United).
3. Players and officials from Gulf FC, Koquima Lebanon FC, Kahunla Rangers FC and Lumbebu United FC.
In compliance with FIFA and CAF rules against match manipulation or anythingof sort, SLFA maintains a zero tolerance in same.
The general public is therefore assured that said matter will be thoroughly investigated and anyone found culpable will face the full force of the law as prescribed in the SLFA CODE OF ETHICS
